Wow it was cold today! But a beautiful day to head to ACES and explore animal Winter Habitats! Our tough mountain kids had not problem with the cold and did a great job finding animal clues! Thanks to Nic and Carrie Milton for joining us in this cold weather! We pretended to be bats, collected food like mice, and learned a bunch about fox, snowshoe hair, weasels, and insects! Don't forget to join us Monday for Owling Night 5:15 at ACES!!
Today Ms. Heather, Sheldon's mom came and did a project with us. We all made valentines for the American Troops in Afghanistan! We learned that they really need hand warmers because it gets cold in the desert at night! We all decorated a heart and then folded it into an envelope to hold the hand warmers. The kids took this really seriously and enjoyed doing something kinds for someone else! Thanks Heather! If you all ever want to do a special project in the class...please let me know and we can set it up!
This week we have been learning some new things on the computers. We have begun writing our Non-Fiction stories on the animals we have done some research on. We are doing all of the writing on Google Docs! We learned this week how to log on, edit text boxes, share the doc. with our teacher and insert pictures. The kids are really enjoying this new genre of writing and using the computers to do it!
