This week we also did a fun experiment with Julie Wille. We had 2 sessions with her. During the first one, she came and taught us how to make a great paper airplane. Then today for our second session. We got to fly them. We used our new measuring skills to measure how far they flew in feet and inches and then graphed our results. We found that if the plane was not almost perfectly symmetrical...then it didn't fly very well!
If you want to try at home. Here is the Link to how we made our planes!
It took a while, but we were patient, and finally the egg was sucked into the bottle. So COOL!!
As was mentioned in the Newsletter. These kids are reading like crazy!!
They love to listen to books, we are reading Charlotte's web as a class! They love laying down and listening to the details of each chapter.
Also some of us, like Lara, wanted to read a book to the class! We are working on reading with expression, and she did a great job!!
Others of us choose to read any extra minute we can!!
Welcome to First Grade!
Welcome to our classroom! Take a look around and check out what we are learning!
