Griffin's "Naked Egg"
Griffin was the Wizard to the week! He had us put an egg in some vinegar...hmm... What is so exciting about that...
Well, for one right away when we placed that egg in the vinegar, we observed that many many bubbles started forming. So many infact that the egg started bobbing in the vinegar. Why?
Because the shell of the egg and vinegar mix causing a Chemical Reaction and creating Carbon Dioxide bubbles!! So Cool! But that wasn't all. We had to leave the eggs in the vinegar for at least 24 hours...
5 Days Later...
Due to the snow day we didn't really have a chance to check out the eggs...So when we returned on Tuesday...we were excited to check them out. We dumped the vinegar and examined the now much bigger eggs...Why Bigger?
To our surprise the eggs were soft and squishy, the shell had almost completely dissolved and we could see the yolk...they even bounced a bit when we dropped them on the table.
If we dropped them from too high though...BOOM explosion!
